“An ancient statue looks out over the horizon, patiently waiting, keeping the flame alive...”
Very pleased with how this animation turned out! I’ve always loved weird ruins, archaeology, and the storytelling implications of the art made by the peoples of ancient, even lost civilizations.
I’ve also been going through some real highs and lows in my life recently and I tried to channel those emotions into this piece here.
I’ve often found that if you can wait patiently, and keep the flame of your passions glowing, even just as some precious embers of inspiration or small motivations, you can weather some pretty major storms.
I want to leave the story of this piece deliberately vague for the viewer but, as the viewer will be able to gather, this statue has seen some weathering in it’s lifetime. It has some cracks, chips, and is missing a portion of it’s snout, who knows how many storms it has had to endure... and yet it still stands, keeping its small, glowing fire burning day after day.
To all the amazing artists and creatives out there keeping their fires alive, this one’s for you!
Cheers to even more cool art to be made in the future! ❤️
