This is the space for my random thoughts and ideas.

My unsorted thought for the evening, as if most of these thoughts aren't horrifically unsorted to begin with, is very much on the nature of technology, interpersonal connection, and web freedom.
I probably have said this before, but I'm very interested in seeing a future where more technological tools, including things that are arbitrarily labelled as “AI”, even though they're not intelligent in the slightest, might be able to radically lower the barrier of Entry to people making their own personal websites and art galleries.
If the net is going to become so utterly flooded with AI spam, bots, and slop then perhaps a dark forest of an internet is an inevitability. That being said, is that such a bad thing,? Maybe there will be great fun to be had and exploring the dense jungles of the future internet. Where web Rings stretch vast and infinitely, and you would be able to truly surf the internet in a decentralized yet powerful way.
I don't know, I'm rambling now. I should really start writing these ideas down in more concrete form! That'll probably help me communicate a lot better, LOL.
Something about “The future of the net will need a lot more privacy, and user generated spaces.”

Working to vastly improve my financial literacy feels harder than going to the gym. The gym for my brain!
But in this economy it’s more important than ever, eh.

Web design is so rad, actually.

So, I’m doing some musing about the state of the internet, as usual, and I’m very curious to know what the future will look like for things like so called “social media”.
Though our relationship with A.I. is all over the map right now, I will say I think it would be supremely ironic to see people develop A.I. coding tools that would basically allow even really illiterate users to generate half decent HTML code to start making their own websites and get off of the main social media pages that are devouring all of our time and attention.

Nothing fights the winter blues like spending time with my loved ones ❤️

I think I need to admit to myself that January is actually a really difficult season for me.
I still have high hopes for the rest of the year, and even the progress I’ve made with my current life stuff and projects! And, also, it really just fills my heart with ice when I try and get motivated for something, lose focus, look outside, and it’s the same shade of grey it’s been for weeks now.

I’ll do what I can to salvage the day but, boy, this Friday isn’t nearly as jovial as I’d like it to be!

On more than one occasion I’ve thought about completely redesigning my website.
Three years on from it’s launch, I’ve learned a lot more about it and have a lot more “best practices” that I’ve picked up along the way including making my menus more accessible and easier to read and understand.

I’d also make a few extra pages where I’d experiment with more CSS and HTML ideas and, also, probably revamp the way I display my journals.
I love using my journals pages but I have a few ideas on how I’d make them even easier to use and upload. Not to MENTION trying to add an RSS feed for them, and my art!

I’ve recently found a few tutorials for making a custom RSS feed and I’d really like to work on making one, for the future, eh!

So many fun projects, so little time.
... Also.... I should download the entire original game soundtrack to Deus Ex. The UNATCO Office theme makes me feel surprisingly productive in a “future office” kind of way, lol! <(^^,)>

I’ve been doing a lot of musing about the nature of social media and actually communicating and forming online communities these days.
A short while ago I watched a video essay by former YouTube Pooper Emperor Lemon where he makes a comment about the nature of trying to make friends in online spaces these days , compared to the smaller, less populated net of the early 2000’s. The analogy he uses is “Like trying to make friends in an airport terminal, rather than a coffee shop” and that analogy has stuck with me.

When I get online most days, I don’t really see people behaving in actually social ways. I barely tread into the YouTube comments section because so few comments have any real sense of engagement to them, and even on fun sites like Blue Sky, which I vastly prefer the rigidly reverse chronological order of posts to compared to sites that randomly update like Reddit and Twitter, posts don’t seem to get nearly enough comments or thoughtful engagement! Maybe it’s just because posts can be made so quickly and scrolled past so easily but it’s a darn shame I don’t see more people actively commenting and engaging with the things artists post.

This being said, these days my favourite site on the internet, aside from my own, is probably my Furaffinty page. I see so many more people making groups, posting comments, and truly engaging in community building conversations over there, and I want to bring that energy back out into the rest of the net!
I’ve been really trying to post more comments online and really tell people that I like something they’ve made, if I find it beautiful or challenging, or inspiring, or just interesting in general!
We absolutely can make the net a better place by engaging more thoughtfully and deliberately and I think that’ll make our online spaces better from the ground up!

In the wake of all the horrors the advent of consumer grade image and video generation software is bringing about, I need to make some posts or videos about how much I enjoy SOME kinds of tech, like this website, or making a home media server!
2026 is a year I want to post more joy online, more things that make me happy!

I forgot I have new art to upload!!!

I'm actually making progress on more art this year! And, with any luck, I'll be able to post a lot more furries, too!
